Professor Cliona Ni Mhurchu
Programme Director
Programme Investigator
Professor Cliona Ni Mhurchu is Director of the DIET research programme. Cliona trained in Human Nutrition and Dietetics at Trinity College Dublin and worked as a Clinical Dietitian before doing her PhD in Public Health Nutrition at the University of Southampton.

Professor Tony Blakely

Programme Investigator
Tony Blakely is an internationally respected epidemiologist at the University of Melbourne (previously University of Otago, Wellington). He is a member of the DIET Programme Governance Group and Programme Steering Committee, and Co- Lead on the HSR evaluation project.

Professor Boyd Swinburn

Programme Investigator
Boyd Swinburn is the Professor of Population Nutrition and Global Health at the University of Auckland and Honorary Professor at the Global Obesity Centre (GLOBE), Deakin University in Melbourne. Boyd is a member of the DIET Programme Governance Group and is a Co- investigator on the Advocacy projects.

Co-Investigator
Bruce Neal is Deputy Executive Director at The George Institute for Global Health, Professor of Medicine at the University of Sydney and Professor of Clinical Epidemiology at Imperial College London. He is an investigator on SALTS, HSR evaluation and the advocacy project within the DIET programme.

Health gains and equity for Māori
Dr Lisa Te Morenga is a Senior lecturer in the Faculty of Health at Victoria University in Wellington. Lisa joins the programme team as a PI for the programme cross-cutting theme: health gain and equity for Māori.

Dr Helen Eyles
Programme Investigator
Dr Helen Eyles is a Research Fellow and Public Health Nutritionist at the National Institute for Health Innovation (NIHI). Helen is a member of the DIET Programme Steering Committee and leads the SALTS - Salt ALTernatives project as well as a Co- PI on the advocacy project.

Dr Yannan Jiang
Bio Statistician
Dr Yannan Jiang is a Senior Biostatistician at the National Institute for Health Innovation (NIHI) and on DIET Programme. As part of the Nutrition Research team at NIHI, Yannan has led in trial design, statistical methodology, data analysis and report across a wide range of research projects.
